Specification

The patient covers one eye and reads the row’s letters (in the white area) aloud, starting at the top. The visual acuity in that eye is indicated by the smallest row that can be read precisely. The rows are numbered by the left vertical black strip; the right black strip defines the point width that can be read at 20 inches.
